Steve Cohen, who runs Point72 Asset Management headquartered in Stamford, was ranked 39th among the richest Americans, and the richest person in Connecticut.
According to Forbes, the 68-year-old Greenwich resident is worth an estimated $21.3 billion, a massive increase from when he was worth $13.6 million in 2019.
Cohen purchased the New York Mets in 2020.
Ray Dalio, age 75, ranks as the second richest person in Connecticut at 59th in America. The Greenwich resident runs Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, managing $112 billion in assets, Forbes said.
Dalio is worth an estimated $14 billion, a drop from his peak of $20 billion in 2020.
Brad Jacobs, however, is on the upswing. The 68-year-old founded XPO Logistics in Greenwich, which has become a world leader in trucking, the magazine said. Jacobs is worth an estimated $8.5 billion, more than double what he was worth in 2023.
The Greenwich man is the third richest person in Connecticut and 130th in America.
Tied for third place with Jacobs with an $8.5 billion net worth is Darien's Todd Boehly.
Boehly cofounded Eldridge in 2015 after he helmed Guggenheim Partners as president. He was worth $6 billion last year.
Boehly, who holds a stake in the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers, has grown Eldridge into a diverse conglomerate with many unique holdings, including the rights to Bruce Springsteen's songs.
Karen Pritzker, age 66, is one of 13 heirs to the Pritzker fortune. Her grandfather built industrial conglomerate Marmon and Hyatt hotels. The family is worth an estimated $41 billion and includes the Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and former Secretary of Commerce in the Obama Administration Penny Pritzker.
But Karen Pritzker, of Branford in New Haven County, is not sitting on her laurels. She's used her money to make smart investments, such as in Apple and hundreds of private biotech firms, Forbes previously said. She is also a prolific film producer.
She was worth $6 billion last year and is now worth an estimated $7.1 billion, the magazine said.
Pritzker's Seedlings Foundation has donated millions to support the physical and mental health of children in Connecticut.
